Product and Service Guarantees
Many companies sell product and just as many of those companies offer a Guarantee that says something like this, "We Guarantee the best Product and Service". Like you any time I read that on a company website I am left wondering, What does that mean? Not everyone in the market can have the best Quality and Service, well at least not at the same price.
At Thapecons Pty Ltd we decided to ask ourselves the same question but that lead us to the question of "Why would we want to Guarantee our products after we have already made the sale and got the money". Again in business we have this conflict that a lot of companies see when they ask that same question. Guarantees can only work if they benefit both parties, so the trick is to make a Compelling Guarantee of Quality and Service that actually takes the risk away from the customer while making money for the company.
The fact is that most companies will try to protect their customers from losses where they can even if it is not their fault and even if it is not written down anywhere. But how do your customers know what you are going to do if you do not let the know up front? That is why Thapecons has taken a lot of time to consider this question for our customers and come up with a solution that our customers will love but we do need your help.
Risk is a funny thing to quantify though, if someone who has no training to drive a car but then decides to go for a drive they are taking big risks. If you happen to be in the car with them and you do not know that they have never driven a car before, now you are taking a bigger risk without even knowing it. Then what if the person driving does not even have insurance, now they are taking an even bigger risk and it could not get much worse right ? but what if they were drunk too !!
The person who has the proper training and experience driving a car is actually taking very little risk especially if they offset what risk is left with insurance on their car, any car they damage and for any injury. You see, it is the same car and it can even be the same driver in the same location but the risks to you as a passenger could be totally different. It also does not matter if you are the passenger in the situation you are going to live with the consequences even if you did not know they were unlicensed or drunk.
That is the same with buying building products like bricks, the risks you could be exposing your customer to without knowing it, just by buying the cheapest brick might be huge. Just like the passengers in the car your customers will often be the ones who suffer the most. What I know is that a company who cares about that risk is less likely to ever expose their customers to it.
Just like most responsible people who are on the road driving people around care about reducing the risks for everyone involved. Most responsible business owners and CEO's care about reducing the risks for their Company, its Staff, Suppliers and Customers. That is why a good, well worded, Guarantee is important to our company success and to our customers satisfaction.
Now the other problem is that not all customers are the same and so their expectations for service and guarantees can be vastly different.
